Which way is one way mate?

Despite the numerous signs, it seems not to apply here. Sadly this old woman was very nearly killed when a taxi came from the top of Queens Street and didn't look right before pulling out.To be fair to the taxi driver he wasn't expecting a vehicle coming up Chapel Street.
@MARK64 I have a 650cc motorbike that s capable of 145mph (and I may or may not have experienced this speed on or off a highway) but my point is this... I have the power to escape the traffic, the hight to be seen by the biggest of vehicles and more training than you can shake a stick out...... despite all of that, I feel incredibly vulnerable on the road..... I wander how these old folk feel..... It seems to me that your newspaper clip shows that we are all concerned in our own way about the use of these carts and the reality that someone soon is gong to get injured or worst.

I have to be honest in that as most of us are not forewarned as to our ultimate fate in life, it could well be that I would have to eventually rely on a machine for mobility - what I see now, and the highlighting in this picture only serves to make me dread the possibility of being unable to get around normally; it is bad enough taking life in hand now, but the idea of a buggy of that nature and having to sift and weave through such aggressive confusion of traffic, just makes me want to either ensure that I keep walking, or give up the fight.

What if I am wearing a Nun s habit and hiding behind a traffic sign on a Zebra Crossing?
