Charlie in the garden

It has been a busy morning. Today, Charlie had been conducting taste research for the thesis on cat food he has been writing. Choosing to ignore the 'wine tasting approach', Charlie decided it would be more prudent to eat the food, rather than just sample the taste and then spit it out. Four tins down the line, he was feeling a little full and decided a break in the fresh air was now in order. Then perhaps a nap before returning to the arduous task of more research and therefore, more eating .....
Spot On, great policy, great picture .. very much from a Victorian Children's Book.
Super write up.

Thank you treeve! There will be more updates as Charlie progresses with his work ...

Charlie hadn't been well for a while and we had to take him to the vets on Christmas Eve. There was no improvement during the following days and on the 29th, we made the sad decision to have him put to sleep. He was nearly 17. Not the best Christmas I can remember. Sweet dreams, Charlie - we miss you.

So Sorry for the loss, 17 is a very good age; it is obviously that the more love he is given extends a cat's lifespan and there increases the effect on his owners. The picture ensures he is with us all for years to come, let alone how much a part of your lives he has been.

So very sorry to hear your news tt13. It is so surprising how a little creature can leave such a large footprint on your life. We lost one of our little kittens just before Christmas which left us feeling hollow for a few days. All I can say from previous experiences is that the loss will in time be replaced with all the happy memories he created, and of course being able to reflect with all the pictures you have taken over the years.

Thank you treeve and CW. And I too am very sorry to hear about the loss of your kitten, CW. I know what you mean about feeling hollow. But, we've been through this twice before and so know that in time that the happy memories will come as you say. Please tell missp that I'm sad to hear your news and that I hope you are both ok.

So sorry to learn of your loss....xxxxx our thoughts (HH) and I are with you both xxxx

Thank you sparky. Thankfully, we have our 4 other cats so the house still feels 'alive'. They've been acting a little strange, do they know what's happened to Charlie - who knows? All will settle down in time, no doubt - I don't think there's any sign of a 'power struggle within the pride' as Charlie was old and kept out of any conflicts. I expect it's a case of them picking up on our sadness and that's unsettled them.
