They are quite different, which leads me to believe that they are 'modelled' on two real people of Penzance at the time.
Despite the interest in Egyptology that was rampant at the time, very little was known or appreciated in the specific designs; it was all a bit hit and miss; not exactly straight out of Petrie. This design was copied from that in London in all details except these faces. It would have been so easy to have cast two identical faces (these two are very badly done) but why cast two quite different faces?
The face is one of the most difficult to present in art form for a number of reasons, these people were not familiar at all with such symbolism or the forming of faces. I think these two were related to Mr Lavin, representing his major dependance upon them as supports.
