Albert

This is the much loved and missed Albert Mellor. Albert was a local character who would play his organ around the town. For many years Albert was accompanied by his monkey.
Picture supplied by Mike Gendall
I remember him and his monkey would sit and watch and see what his monkey would do .. A lovely close up picture!! Albert Mellor he is sadly missed sad# sad#

I remember Albert and his little monkey, I used to see them in Causewayhead, when I was young. Seems like a lifetime ago, but what a wonderful memory.

When I saw the album title Cloggy Mellor popped into my mind immediately, a man who epitomised character . I was thrilled to see this. What a splendid portrait Mike, thanks for sharing.

I remember Albert Cloggy catching the first bus out to St buryan in the morning, he would carry a rucksack full of bits and bobs ie shoelaces, cotton reels and needles, you name it he seemed to have it there in his bag. He would walk from farm to farm selling to the farmers wives. a real gentleman. This was in the very early 1970 s.
