A parade in St Mary's I beleive - C.J. King Sy Mary's Isles of Scil

Any idea what this is about?
Naval and military parade with everyone else in their best togs. Clearly a joyful occasion from the expressions and the bunting.
There is a wealth of detail in the original.
Remarkable - the photograph was taken from the shop that eventually was run by my Great Aunt Rose Amelia (nee Fenn) Thompson and my Great Uncle Alfred Thompson.

It’s that flag again, from the Atlantic Hotel window.
Fom Wikipedia -
1861-1946 The Bandiera di Stato (State s Flag) of the Kingdom of Italy. An Italian tricolour with Savoy s shield and a Royal crown in the middle.

There is possibly another Italian flag flown from the top Bank Chambers window. The dress and number of people more than likely point again to the Isabo awards.
I don’t think the Royal Navy would turn out to welcome the arrival of the Marconi yacht.
