Three people were injured in a pile-up in icy conditions on the A30 in Cornwall.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash near Launceston on Thursday. Another vehicle later collided with a police car at the scene.
The eastbound carriageway near Paul was closed for more than four hours.
The casualties were taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment. Cornwall Highways says roads around Launceston are still hazardous.
