No Takers?

How about Rose of Washington Square by Benny Goodman

Gene Krupa was the force majeur drummer with Benny Goodman, Louis Prima's masterpiece (Sing, Sing, Sing) was played by Benny Goodman and later by the Gene Krupa band. Gene set the standards for drummers the world over. Then there is Buddy Rich, another master musician.

So reach for the shelves and pull down
Bernie's Tune with Krupa and Rich.

Bernie Taupin wrote with Elton John who had a hit with "goodbye Yellow brick Road."
Canned Heat had a hit with "on the road again"

I'm not sure if this is what I'm supposed to be doing, but I thought I'd give it a try.

Well, as far as I can work out, the idea is to make a link with the last song mentioned.
I dropped Bernie's Tune with Krupa and Rich.
With the link to Gene Krupa already made, that leaves a link necessry to either the band or to the Bernie's Tune;
You have cleverly picked on Bernie Taupin.

So I will add that Canned Heat was a song by Jamiroquai

Jamiroquai had a number called "Runaway."
Del Shannon also had a hit with a song called "Runaway"

I have to confess I only know the Del Shannon song. ( it's an age thing)

Silent Warrior is a member of the USAF armed forces, obviously American, this leads us to American Pie, this was about Buddy Holly, Budy Holly was a song sung by a group weezer, 'say it aint so'....................

definatley an age thing.::11:

WOW! that was a hard call, but as I said "it's an age thing" and I remember the Fonz,Ritchie and the gang at Alfs (did I really say that). First I thought "weezers" ? try Smokie or Smokie Robinson, but then I thought na! Kepp the ball rolling.
Weezers played on Happy Days, so
Happy Days are here again..............Barbara Streisand.

Barbara Streisand, what a star, brilliant at whatever she sang or acted, here's one to follow, she did a nice version of 'one day my prince will come' this leads to Prince, another incredible performer, who did a cracking version of Purple Rain................

Purple rain yea great number. So I will have to go with Deep Purple. Saw them at the Flamingo soon after "deep purple in rock" came out. They had a hit with "black night" at the time I think. Getting back to the weezers I should go for "smoke on the water", but the most impressive number they sang that night was.

"child in time"

We are so obviously from the same era, Flamingo......what a blast from the past, used to go to dances there on m/bikes. So how's this for a link from the past. child in time........time is on our side performed by the Rolling Stones who also appeared in the winter Gardens in the 60's.....stones...stoned again by Norma Jean....Norma Jean... by Elton John and Bernie Taupin......................
