The 29-year-old man was rescued on Sunday evening in a five-hour long operation after falling at Land's End in bad weather.
A helicopter made attempts to rescue the man near the bottom of the 200ft (60m) cliffs but could not reach him.
A paramedic was eventually winched to the bottom by a coastguard rescue team to treat him, coastguards said.
The man was then airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.
