Surf Action has been short-listed for the semi-finals of the National Lottery Awards for best health project.
The awards highlight how lottery funding is used in local communities across the UK, with the public voting on the winners.
Voting for the semi-finals ends at 1200 BST on 20 June.
Penzance-based Surf Action is one of 10 projects to make it through in the best health project category in the National Lottery Awards, the annual search to find the UK's favourite lottery-funded projects.
It works with service personnel returning from active service, providing therapeutic sessions to help them get back to community life.
By using surfing, volunteers and instructors help people regain their confidence and develop positive everyday skills.
Russ Pierre, director of Surf Action, said the organisation was "absolutely thrilled" to have reached the semi-finals and that it had benefited from the lottery before.
He said: "Lottery money enabled Surf Action to buy new wet suits and beginner and specialist boards to be used at our surf camps for soldiers returning from active service."
