Presently there are memory cafes in most of the major towns in Cornwall, which provide an opportunity for people with memory problems and those who care for them to drop in for a chat and a coffee. They usually offer reminiscence-based activities and health and social care professionals are on hand to answer questions and offer advice in an informal setting.

Reminiscence sessions and associated activities are an appropriate and effective way of bringing pleasure, stimulation, meaning and purpose into the lives of older people.
Museum staff deliver sessions at care homes for groups of older people across Cornwall and provide reminiscence training for people working with older people at the museum. Post- training, anyone working with older people can borrow the 'Memory Boxes' to deliver reminiscence and other activities at their leisure. The boxes are packed with stimulating social history objects, photographs and other resources from the 1930s onwards.
