The Snows of 1947 - Trengwainton

A press cutting showing the Laundry Cottage on Trengwainton Estate, where my mother lived at this time.
This house is now a NT holiday let called Nanceglos.

(No acknowledgement possible as I have only the excised photograph and caption)
That was an incredible year for snow. We have not seen the like since. There was just one that came near that degree, 1953? perhaps.
But the drifts were massive. I doubt any present day authority could cope. It could happen again, I guess - look at 1891 (not from memory that is). We are lucky in this present age.
