Penzance 1920's
Taken in the early part of 1921. This aerial view of Penzance was taken before the War memorial and the Jubilee swimming pool was constructed.
Aha! This is how the battery area looked before redevelopment! Wonderful to find this pic randomly on the site. Wish we could see the pic a bit clearer but this gives a great idea of how it used to look. See the old houses where the Yacht is now! Houses on St Anthony's gardens. Wish we could see what is below the watermark!
 
If you look through my albums - you will see information about what was in the corner, leading up to the memorial. Fish manure and coal yard, with a lime kiln in the midst. That is the reason for the colour of the stonework to that section of walling.
