This is the beer cellar that ran under the White Lion and under the Green Market car park Penzance. It was connected to almost all of the pubs in that area through a series of tunnels. On the site of what is now the Ritz (was the Ritz bingo hall) was a brewery and that connected through a tunnel to this cellar. It is rumoured that these tunnels and a large cellar still full of wines and spirits was trapped when the council created the car park. This picture shows the White Lion part of the cellar c1898
