This continues the non-stop heart surgery of towns and villages, the dispersal of the community.
The Sportsman (now Sportsmans Arms) was flourishing around 1830; I believe the white building to be around 1900.
I suspect that there was an Inn here since the 17th century.

I think my brother has entertained at the Sportsmans Arms, sad to see it go, one less venue for musicians.

I played there I think it was the end of last year or beginning of this year. Not the biggest pub but still a venue.

Overhearing (not eavesdropping!) a conversation in Heamoor Post Office today, it would seem that this hostelry is on the verge of reopening.

Now that would be good. It has a monopoly in the area and has good potential if the new owners build a community based, traditional pub business.

The building has had a new paint job, and there s been some sort of activity inside. I m told it s due to open sometime soon (whatever that means!)

It s been open for a few weeks now; not been in yet for a pint...
