Bath Cottages Wherrytown

Bath Cottages in WherryTown Newlyn c1930
No scrub that last comment. I can see from a picture of the Mounts Bay Inn that the pitch of the roof is wrong. So in answer to your question, I don't know.

That's OK :D I'm trying to find another picture i had of bath Cottages in my collection that isn't yet up on the site. I believe @Harvey69 may be interested in that once i find it and upload it.

Just going from the number of front doors, I'd guess it's 'Coastguards Row' (aka 'Boase Cottages'?), South side..?

This is from the 1878 1:500...

The same buildings (+ the Baths) in 1936...

I was looking for a photo showing a higher building (gable end) on the East end of the terrace... at first I was confused:

The gable end is Oliver Caldwell's 1887 Public Baths.

The 5-pot chimney stack is there (in the photo at the top of this thread), but the single pot is just out of shot.

There's a good picture (from the back) in the thread on 'Indoor Baths' about the demolition of the building in 1938, following the fire in 1935.

Yeah I did the same... I realised the style of chimney, classic for coastguard buildings, but like you I though hang on, it's not in the right place...

@Halfhidden I can follow your logic about it being on the South side! I am also interested in the North side Grylls Terrace a distant relation lived in Number 1 and was manager of the serpentine factory
