Lo Cost

Taken during a Mazey Day procession this was the look of what is now Pioneer in Market Jew Street. Then known as Lo Cost in the 1990's. The supermarket originally had a shoe shop next door but acquired the site for a controversial idea of a off license chain. The idea was born by Steffan Barnes, their beer wines and spirits specialist. The scheme sparked a national chain of off licences.
