Living Word - Inspirational books, Queen Street

a shop of faith just down from the globe inn
I think next one down was the cobblers. Brilliant guys, salt of the earth. My father had special leather boots issued to him after the war, as an RAF lorry had driven over his foot, with his foot lodged on two rocks that he was painting white (as they do); made a bit of a mess of his foot, so was issued with special boots. They were made in Plymouth and every year he had to get new ones. At time they squeaked terribly, he used to take them in to Clifts and they would fix it up (no, not a drop of oil). The accident was the reason he became an RAF Chef and Dietician. Despite the damage he became the RAF Pace Man on Parades and Marches.
