'Nans' = valley and 'Isel' = low/lowly/modest = Lowly Valley (my suggestion) though Low Valley is usually given but what does that mean exactly? Anyway, this is the typical and pretty, little Penwithian stream that flows down onto the beach over a bed of granite pebbles at Nanjizel.

Such beauty for the beholder here in January on a crisp, clear day. The river is running a different course from its usual one and etching a deep groove in the smooth and barely trodden sand.

Here is the bridge at Chyandour complete with train passing over it. Sometimes the waves come rushing in under the bridge at high tide.
