Tresco Bays - 11

Agapanthus - a wild version of this plant has spread across the Islands. Tresco appears to have the greatest number of these.
It has to be assumed that local wildlife bodies are watching its spread to ensure that other plants are not ousted.
I do get concerned when I see tourists with a wild plant in a plastic bag, being taken back on the Scillonian.
I also get very concerned at seeing some flat footed tourist traipsing across wild plants to get a photograph.
The eco-land is fragile, all manner of butterfly eggs, etc, can be destroyed by such thoughtless action.
I do wish that they would stick entirely to worn and used pathways, as is requested by Islanders.
Photographed at Bathinghouse.
6th August 2009.
