This plaque states:

In loving memory of Louisa A.M. McGrigor - Commandant V.A.D. Cornwall 22.
Who died on service, March 31st 1917.
Erected by her fellow workers in
the British Red Cross Society, Women Unionist Association, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and Friends.

ONE WHO NEVER TURNED HER BACK BUT MARCHED BREAST FORWARD, NEVER DOUBTED CLOUDS WOULD BREAK, NEVER DREAMED, THOUGH NIGHT WERE WORSTED, WRONG WOULD TRIUMPH, HELD WE FALL TO RISE, ARE ENABLED TO FIGHT BETTER, SLEEP TO WAKE.
No, many thanks to you, Chill, for elucidating that information regarding the good lady. I read the link with great interest from start to finish! Like so many, she seems not to have married (though I don't know this for sure except that there is no mention of such) but dedicated her life to everyone.
