Insignia worn when a member of the Golowan band.
The badge depicts Penglas, the horse skull Obby Oss of Penzance which tries each year to disrupt the Golowan Festival Band. The pin badge shows the Golowan Festival/Mazey day logo designed by a schoolgirl, I believe, in 1991, before the first Mazey Day.

Are we to take it that the Golowan team approve of their artwork etc being placed here? The centrefold ... did you take the photograph? I always knew you were centrefold material :)

I took this photograph! They're my badges. I am on good terms with the several band members still known to me. I doubt if anyone else has kept every programme since the year 1991. Only last year's is missing bexause I was away. If the Golowan Committee has an archive, I'd be glad to pass on my material. Of course, the leadership was obliged to change a few years ago but I have given good service to the festival, I believe. As for the centrefold, Treeve, shhhhh!
