Stoat

What's the difference between a Stoat and a Weasel.................One is Weasely reconizable the other, Stoatally different!!!
Thanks both, It's birds I aim for mainly, but occasionally something like this comes up, sometimes I'm ready, lots of times I'm not, I saw the stoat in full ermine coat last winter, but didn't manage a pic of it :(

Besides the brilliant photography, you bring back vivid memories of my grandfather's ready wit, he was always asking what the difference was, they were weasely distinguished, the stoat is stoatally different. Francis Orlando Thompson. :)

The only one I personally have ever definitely seen, to my knowledge, was over at Godrevy as I was walking less than halfway between the two NT car parks where the road turns as it heads for the second car park. (I was heading for the headland). I caught sight of one poking its head out of a rabbit hole, one of many in an underground labyrinth with exits in a sand dune just off to the right of the road. It struck me as far too large for a weasel. I may also have seen one over at Marazion Marsh when I had a fleeting glimpse out of the corner of my eye of a long, thin black sihouette heading for a thicket of brambles. Where there are rabbits a-plenty, I suppose there are bound to be stoats and weasels. A great snap yet again, Chris!

Cheers Tpp, I'll post another pic Denanmor, it's easier than trying to explain where it is.
