St Michael's Mount

An oil painting of St Michael's Mount, last painting by myself, 2006. Hoping shortly to commence again.
I like this - do you do water colours too? What are your thoughts on acrylics or do you prefer oils?
Be nice to see other works on the site if any other members paint, draw etc.

This is not my 'normal' subject - I was 'commissioned by my daughter; it was for her friend who walked along the front many a time, so the view is accurate, but a conglomerate of different viewponts, to give it a roundness. I made a particular study of the way in which clouds drift and rise over the Mount.
I used to work in ink and watercolour many years ago. Occasionally in oil pastels. Oil is such a free medium it allows me to work better than the precision required by ink and watercolour; I usually ended up throwing away more than I finished. With oil, if I do not like it, it gets painted over, usually with some influence on the final picture. I used to enjoy the precision and detail of inkwork or pencilwork. I may have some here.
