Well, I guess they were of the same age as that Stanhope Forbes depiction of a row of shops that doesn't exist now because of Alfred Smiths Furniture shop and the road that turns up right to the St John's Ambulance Centre. Someone, possibly Treeve put it up on PP a while ago.
Nr 7 and 8 Alverton Terrace were built 1755, the earliest of the houses along this road.
These pictured cottages appear on the 1842 Tithe map.
I would estimate built 1810, with later 'new windows' .
The cottages (Swan's) where stands the Alfred Smiths extension were of course much older, being the edge of the old town, possibly 1650-70.
It appears that I have not written of Buriton House anywhere. I will have to rectify that; it was commenced around 1825, North Parade having been begun in 1815 and completed in 1826.
