What is the scanner you are using?
You need to find the Professional Control Panel via software, setting the pixels and colour format, etc. Quite simple when you have found it.
From what I can see it is all set from the panel on the unit, it does not appear to have a computer Control Panel. I know I had that problem on an all in one I used to have. I have an Epson V200, best little scanner in the world, unless anyone knows different. Check your installation CD to discover what there is on the disc.
What I do with my hp all-in-one is simply scan the postcard to a folder I call Scans and then open it in Photoshop (or another similar art package program) and re-size it as necessary in 'image>image size'. A good workable size for PP is 1087 x 687 pixels approx. Left as it is without re-sizing scanned, a postcard scanned on mine, cropped and saved will be screen size. In fact, after previewing the postcard on the scanner software, mine will automatically turn it into A4 size which becomes 1087 X 687. I am not sure I am being useful here with my way of doing things but hope it may help, ok?
