Scillonian 1926

RMS Scillonian; built 1926 by Ailsa Shipbuilding Co Troon. 429 tons gross; 170.6ft; 12 knots; 15,000 cu ft cargo space and 400 passengers; she served as a troop carrier in WWII, with 40,000 troop movements; 1956 sold off and named Peninnis, but broken up in Ghent in 1957. This photo taken by myself in 1956, when expecting Scillonian (II) to be delivered. Not as good a picture as I would have liked.
