Designed by Oliver Caldwell, built 1889, the same year as another Oliver Caldwell building, Lariggan Bolitho Convalescent Home. These were his 4th contracts, after The Battlefield , Nr 26 and 27 Market Place and the Sea Water Baths on the Promenade. He already was showing a flair for breaking away from convention, yet retaining the classical framework. The church has considerable presence, with its double grand staircase, and double fronted doors.
