Our Price, The Terrace

REMEMBER OUR PRICE WE NEED A GOOD MUSIC SHOP
oh yeah I forgot about our price....how long have we been without this shop does anyone rember?

Then take a walk down to Virgin Megastore; they took over the previous megastore, with not a lot of changes to the store content. Take a walk on the Wild Side. What's that? Penzance? Best bet is Amazon, mate. I will say Penwith Music Shop is very top rate for service.

Bought the first Motorhead LP in Penwith Music shop back in '77 or thereabouts. Somewhat surprised to see it there from what I can remember.

Anyone remember 'Bojangles' which I think was either next to Our Price (to the right of it) or the next shop along? Might have gone by the time Our Price opened.

What was the lady called? Miss Tregenza? I know she used to be a bit perplexed when I went in there in my Teddy Boy jacket, looking for Prokofiev or Tchaikowsky, and then asking for Bill Haley; mind you despite her age (to me), she was quite a raver; she was brilliant and one of the old class of shopkeepers; not many of them left at all.

Think I only went in there the once so not a regular. Tended to go to either Chy An Stylus (where the Painted Bird is now (bottom of MJS) or Whites of Alverton for records.

Whites had 'booths' where you could go in and listen on headphones - excellent! They also had what I can only describe as a glass fronted box outside where they'd display what bands were coming to PZ. I can still remember seeing the poster for Hawkwind in '72, but alas, I was too young to go .....

Might there be photographic evidence of you as a Teddy Boy, perhaps?

@ tt13, if I remember the Council gave the OK for a concert on the Rec. until they were told that Hawkwind were not a woodwind orchestra....::11:

Complete with full head of blonde hair (all my own) with a quiff !! I wore bumpers as well, by the way ....
