Old Town - 46

From a representation on the Shore of Old Town Bay.
It is an old formica panel, which is now badly damaged by weather.
I have roughly 'restored' this small extract.
In Mediaeval times, this was the main town of what was then Ennor, now St Mary's.
This was Porthennor, and it had a castle on the hill - Ennor Castle; some remains exist, but under much vegetation.
Ennor Castle is mentioned in 1244, fortified in 1315, with 12 men. In 1554 ordnance was 5 small guns.
Because of the fortifications of The Garrison and the building of Hugh Town, it became ruined mid 18th C.
