Magnetic separator (see below) - Geevor Mine Processing Plant

At Geevor Mine, cassiterite (tin ore) was closely associated with iron minerals and haematite. These collected with the cassiterite and needed to be removed along with the iron balls which were used in the grinding mills. The introduction of electro-magnetic separators took over from lengthy and inefficient traditional methods.
