Yesterday in the early evening, a police car was right here where the shadow ends and officers were talking to some young folk. I used to call that site to the right 'Butterfly Land' for my children as there used to be seven species to be seen there on the copious buddleia.
Meanwhile (not connected, I hope) on Wharf Road last night, there was a fire engine, all lights flashing dazzlingly, with about five or six firemen complete with suits and full head, yellow helmets. I think there was a fear that gas was escaping from somewhere and they were taking a look at the senior folk's flats! Busy town!
