Crew Saved - Girl Patricia

Picture taken in 2006 in the wet dock at Penzance.

Crew Saved - Girl Patricia
Afternoon of 29th May 2008, the Girl Patricia PZ57, in good seas, and in fine weather,

started sinking near the Isles of Scilly; a message was sent out and help arrived just in time,

as the ship sank within two minutes of rescue arriving;

all four crew members are safe and affected by the cold water.

After trawling through the Shipping Registers 1969-1990 and the DEFRA records from 1996,

I discover that an error has arisen with a confusion over the names Girl Pat III PZ 87 and Girl Patricia PZ 57.

The information in FVBI 2006, is therefore incorrect.

In 2005 PZ87 was allocated to the KATIE CLAIRE,

and PZ57 continued to be the same vessel with the same RSS number of A21576.

That number remains with a ship, wherever she is, whatever her name or registration.

Girl Pat III was RSS Nr A21593, and she was a larger vessel and with a steel hull, built in 1978 Merseyside by McTay Marine.
