This was known as Lower Minney an area of Orchards ... which became Lower Mennaye ... This was The Pond, not of ancient date; there was an earlier pool, as part of a leat, and which was used for collecting water by cart, in higher ground, roughly where there is a gap in the trees, where the house is seen.
