In 1842, 'Daniels Place' as shown on the 1875OS was Daniel Street, and had just eight houses, probably c1835. In the thirty years from 1842 had been built a considerable extension of Daniels Place, but still only half of its present length. In the centre of the south side is a long building with a courtyard. Legend had it that this was a commercial establishment - the truth and details of which have so far eluded me.
That was at one time the Queens Garage for many years and most likely was stables before that as it contained stalls and cobble
paving and drainage....
 
Knew Bunny in the 60 s, when you got to know him he would let you use his garage on a D.I.Y. basis, a nice bloke and also lived in the street if I remember.
 
I once owned property in Daniel Place the deeds of which were in the old script, going back to Daniel s Meadow ...
