The May Procession, 1990, begins at St Mary's RC School

The annual May Procession to honour the school patron, Mary, 'the Mother of God' began at St Mary's RC School in Peverell Road and continued down Barwis Hill to Rosevean Road and the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Rosevean Road. This was a mini-version of what happens still in Roman Catholic countries on a far bigger scale.
With Fr Cormac the Parish Priest sometime in the mid/late nineties, seemingly (I am unsure) because he thought there was too much emphasis on Mary and because Priests had become increasingly busy and hard-pressed like everyone else.
