Castle Horneck (Lethby)

Is that chap in the Laurel and Hardy hat suitably dressed for an outing at moist Castle Horneck? I hope he doesn't slip on the bank of the river!

I have this very same picture tpp, missp and I think we found the exact location of this bridge many years ago now when we lived in Alverton. Just up from the lodge and between where the A30 now runs. Some of the metal fence posts alongside the road are still there if you look hard and ferret through the ivy. It was the only part of the river we found that ran straight for long enough as appears in the picture. Beyond the entrance to Rosehill up towards the farmhouse there are a couple of twists and turns which make that area unlikely.

I know where the entrance to Rosehill is and the A30. The river is on the left as you look at it but where is the lodge you mention and the straight bit? I have a few pictures of the river at Rosehill and will put these up presently.

At the end of Castle Horneck Road is Castle Horneck Lodge. It is at the opening of the left hand fork opposite Alverton Lodge.
