Penzance view from Newlyn.

Picked this up at the carboot at the weekend , any ideas if a known picture and any idea as to date please, any info welcome. Can clearly see stacks at Wherrytown, and guess taken from the end of Newlyn Green.
Just realized after posting its from Newlyn and the old market site bellow the fishermens pub on the hill before the North pier was built. Doh, prob a known view then?

Nice find, not copyright, as far as I can tell. It certainly is from Newlyn and before the North Pier. I can determine the location of the photographer from the alignment of Wherry Rocks and St Mary s Tower. Serpentine Works in operation; Bodilly s Mill in operation.

Also got a nice letterhead bill depicting Trethithick and Mabbots yard at the entrance to town in 1888. Is it ok to post that ?, and if i dont pick a choice of album will it go to the one im viewing ,if in Penzance East?

We can re-position it for you, if you do not want to keep it in your own albums. We have other letterheads here, no copyright problems with those. This picture would be best in your own album, I feel, rather than in the games section, as it is now. If the letterhead shows any great detail, can you scan the head with some greater resolution, as well, please?

For now, this is in the Newlyn harbour section, until I determine precisely when and where. OK?

It is indeed, but I am not so sure about position, as I see a river outfall in the middle distance, I need to check rock in this area, as well as heights - eye level appears to be in line with the eaves of The Queen s Hotel.

Incredible..... Thanks for sharing this with us. I m confident that its not from the Richard Brothers or Gibson collection. I ve not see this before..... and like treeve, I m sure its out of copyright ::1:
