I would like to draw to everyone's attention the following article from the Prospect Magazine. If you read this article in the link, you may be surprised to see what Oppenheimer says. He is careful not to mix up Cornwall up with England, BoP, and says that, genetically, the Cornish are closest to the Basques! If you like the article, you might like to go to the home page which allows you to click on links to articles in all the old magazine issues, some of them extremely interesting!http://www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/2006/10/mythsofbritishancestry/

That is an extraordinary path to follow. There are many other paths that lead to any such conclusion about any land's origins of peoples. To ignore language, history, recorded fact to pursue the elusive gene? I have never been satisfied with present perception of the developments in Britain of its various peoples, but it comes down to a number of factors. Who is selling books? Who is making TV? Who has a lot of time on their hands? Who can obtain grants and funding? Who has the greatest access to free hands and minds in the UK? Seem to remember another Oppenheimer or more had an equally devastating approach.
