Polsue first recorded this cross which was in the yard of the Bible Christian chapel yard. By 1891, ythe boundary wall had been set back and the ground level lowered to expose the base stone and lower portion of shaft. That same year, the Lord St Levan the landowner, presented the cross to the people of St Erth in a cermony. The back, in shade here, is a Latin Cross (see the photo of the front for a full description).
