Walking northwards, along the bank of the Pool, I reach the path for the top of Gweal Hill.
It here passes along the south shore of Popplestone,
looking straight across the Neck to the south of Shipman Head Down (right).
Left is the ever eager arms of Hell Bay and its attendant fury.
On the most easy of days, the waters here can be a frenzy of white foam.
Today however, the stiff breeze was from the east, and shelter was provided by the islands' hills.
A few days back, it was a different story; pictures to come later.
