Approaching Bryher Quay, Merrick Island against the background of Tresco.
30th May 2009
I overheard a London tourist stating that they enjoy 'bree-er'. (groan).
Bryher is hard work, it is hilly and there are places that are very rocky, very steep, and running parallel with very steep cliff faces. There was one hill that I could not make, this time, as I was shattered, but full of exuberance for being on the island of my Pender family again.
Bank Cottage is no longer visible in the way it was, but still there in essence; up further, my great Granny Pender's House is still there, but not the old stone house it was, festooned as it was with Hottentott Figs.
