As we pass the Runnelstone, we pass the cliffs at Gwennap Head, where there are two daymarks, aligned to let unwary sailors know where they are in relation to The Runnelstone, the tower of rock beneath the sea; Since the last wreck on the giant tower, it lost the top section, and is now no longer a threat in itself, but reefs and towers are still there, between the Runnelstone and the cliffs. A wide berth is best maintained. The alignment of the day marks is such as their heights also indicate the ship's location.
